Egyptian Fashion

The cloth suggested and designed depends upon the environment people live in. The result for Egypt is obviously thin linen cloths. The data about the ancient Egyptian fashion is still derived from the wall painting and sculptures, though, a lot is kept safe in books and history. Cloths, in Egyptian fashion were not given too much importance in their design and well being. Simple cloths were in use by every class. From pharaoh to peasants, they used to wear simple cloths. The major difference between the two was the quality of the fabric used.

Peasants used a comparatively lower quality fabric in contrast with higher class people. Egyptians, have always followed latest hair style and make-up. Ornaments and jewelry was loved and always preferred by ancient Egyptians. They used a lot of types of necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. The concept of jewelry in ancient Egypt also indicates about it magical and spiritual power, which it gives to its user. Ornaments were designed with high precision and thought. They are proved to be lucky symbols for the people. Every class, from poor to rich used to wear ornaments and jewelry.

Men usually use to wear short linens and women used to wear long fitted dresses. With the advancement, rich people used to wear more high quality fabric and linen while the poor used to wear low quality cloths. The "Royal linen" was considered among the best and finest linen. This was a half-transparent linen. More detailed clothing was used by royals for parties and occasions.

The important thing about the ancient Egyptian fashions is that it was in the control of women of Egypt. Spinning and weaving was done by women. These spinning and weaving houses were controlled by wealthy nobles. Stripping and beating produces long flat strips. The flax was also combined in it. These threads were then used to make fabric.

Throughout the Egyptian history, the fashion has not changed to a greater extent. Only few changes can be seen, like, men used to wear a little longer linen as compare to older times. The cloths are still light and finest of their kind.
